Kylie Jenner slammed as ‘deeply out of touch’ over ‘King Kylie’ cosmetics promo and new song

It was a big week for Kylie Jenner. She dropped her first single ever called Fourth Strike. She wore basically nothing but glitter in a new campaign. And there’s another story that everyone’s still talking about. Here with more is our reporter Bernie Zillio. Bernie, let’s talk Kylie. Let’s talk Kylie. Okay, so Miss Jenner decided to bring us back to her King Kylie era. as many people remember is kind of when she had the blue hair and the noticeably bigger pout. This was back in 2015, the same year that she launched her lip kits, which basically turned into a billion dollar beauty empire. So, she’s having some fun with it. Um, she released a new makeup line called King Kylie for her Kylie Cosmetics brand. Um and in promotion of that she released um a video showing her kind of getting arrested. Now in the video she’s wearing a leather bra, micro shorts. It’s very sexy. It’s very Kylie, but people had some issues with this. Yeah, this is kind of crazy to me. It seemed like your classic Britney Spears criminal video. Maybe there was a little nod to Luigi Manion, but that’s not what people were reading into. What were some of the comments here? Right. So, some of the comments um were just saying that they were she was a little bit tonedeaf with this visual in this video and she kind of just needed to read the room. Um a lot of people were pointing to the current political climate, the ongoing ICE raids happening across the country, saying that she should have kind of used a different artistic approach when promoting this this line. Other people brought up the no kings protests happening. um which are in response to the Trump administration. So, she kind of ruffled a few feathers with this video. Others were bringing up uh Kendall Jenner’s controversial Pepsi commercial in 2017. Oh my gosh, I remember that where there’s civil unrest and Kendall uh solves the problem by reaching across the the picket line with a Pepsi. People thought it was kind of woke and dumb and and it got a lot of backlash then. Yes, it got a lot of backlash and people are saying, “Girl, you saw what happened to your sister. What are you doing in 2025 doing all this, right? I mean, arrests are nothing new. Handcuffs are nothing new. She’s obviously to me it seemed like a a nod to maybe a little BDSM leather outfit and the handcuffs bondage.” Um, but of course, we’re in a heightened time right now and so people were reading into the promo being tonedeaf to kind of play into arrest imagery. And you know, here’s Kylie Jenner. She is a, you know, she’s a a white woman and she’s kind of having erotic fun with something that’s actually affecting people’s lives, right? 100%. And I I don’t know how I personally feel about it all, but I will say there was a lot of hate, but there were a lot of fans who were very hyped that the King Kylie era is coming back. So, I have no doubt that Miss Jenner will become a trillionaire after this. I couldn’t believe I mean this photo shoot like in the glitter body paint stunning. I mean I can’t believe this woman has had children. I mean it’s really just always incredible to see the the Jenners and the Kardashians uh do what they do best which is you know vamp it up in my opinion. Yes. And make money. They make that money. And do you think Kylie’s uh musical venture is going to be as profitable as her makeup venture? You know what’s really funny is one of my favorite songs is that one hit wonder that Kim Kardashian put out like I don’t even remember the year. Um back when she was Paris Hilton’s best friend. Yes. It was so bad that it was good and I was rooting for Kylie to recreate that so bad but it’s good. And for me it kind of flopped. I think there was too much autotune on the song but again her fans are die hard and I can see her really trying to make some sort of career pivot. in addition to her beauty ventures. Yeah. I mean, I thought that the song was chill, but you know, her voice definitely wasn’t the star of the song. And some of the ex comments said uh that it was awful. And one that I particularly like said that it sounded like a Sephora ad. So, that makes sense. A woman who is has her brain completely plugged into the cosmetics world might make something that you might hear while shopping at Sephora, right? And I would be listening to that like putting stuff in my basket. So, I mean, mission accomplished. And speaking of kind of throwback songs, you know, Paris Hilton song Stars um Stars Are Blind. Yes. That got a lot of hate at the time. I remember back in the 2000s, but if you pull that song up today, it’s got this great reggae beat. It really has some nostalgia fun to it. So, some of these songs can have a, you know, resurgence much later when people appreciate, you know, the musicality of it later on. You’re right. Maybe in 2035 this Kylie song will be like a bop. Yeah. I mean, you would think, you know, her baby daddy Travis would have helped a little bit, you know, with the music of it, you know, but but hey, he’s busy.

Kylie Jenner is being encouraged to read the room following the drop of her latest Kylie Cosmetics promo. Over the weekend, she posted a short video on Instagram showing her getting arrested. The clip featured the reality star-turned-billionaire beauty mogul dressed in a black leather bra, matching micro-shorts, silver hip chains, translucent black tights and black pointed-toe pumps.
