Jane Fonda Calls Out Barbra Streisand’s Robert Redford Tribute | Oscars 2026
Jane Fonda candidly shared her thoughts on Barbra Streisand’s emotional tribute to Robert Redford during the 2026 Oscars. She told Entertainment Tonight at the Vanity Fair Oscars Party on Mar. 15, “I wanna know how come Streisand was up there doing that for Redford? She only made one movie with him, I made four. I have more to say.” Indeed the ‘Grace & Frankie’ alum starred alongside Robert in ‘The Chase’, ‘Barefoot in the Park’, ‘The Electric Horseman’ and ‘Our Souls at Night.’ She continued of her late friend, who died in September at 89, “I was always in love with him. I only remember THE ELECTRIC HORSEMAN. What were the other three, Jane? Frankly, THE WAY WE WERE was pretty iconic. I think it made perfect sense. Also, did the Academy ask you?

I think we all give tribute to Robert Redford in our own way❤ For the good man and loving man he is ❤ It does not matter how many movies we were in but how much Love we shared being able to see his and our own humility in loving❤❤❤❤

I think the singing of the song had a lot to do with Streisand being up there, and maybe Streisand and Redford had a closer relationship . I can understand her emotion but it comes off as petty .
I would have thought it would be Jane Fonda as well tbh. The way we were was just about the cheesy song and Streisand has more clout in Hollywood. She's not exactly a shrinking violet.
Jane Fonda should have been exicuted for treason during the Viet Nam War for betraying our prisoners of war. They were totured severely for what she did to them.
