Bryan Cranston defends Skyler White after Frankie Muniz said he wanted to kill her while watching ‘Breaking Bad’ to make Walt’s life easier: “Let me understand this. Her husband leaves without any explanation, she’s pregnant, he’s making crystal methamphetamine, people have died, & she’s the bitch?”

Just when I thought I couldn’t appreciate Bryan Cranston more.

Seriously though, I feel like Skyler is as good a litmus test as Summer from *(500) Days*…If someone has a passionate hatred for either character, it’s a bit of a red flag to me.

Frankie Muniz is really starting to annoy me its bad enough hes maga now this

So many of those shows in the era cast the lead male as the anti-hero while making their significant other as unlikable. The Sopranos is a striking example.

I really felt uncomfortable when Muniz said he wanted to kill Skyler. I know she’s a character on a TV show but I find it unsettling to see a man say that he wants to kill a woman all because she was annoying and sometimes got in the way of her criminal husband.

You gotta be a real dumbass to be saying this in 2026. People were stupid for saying it back when the show aired but to still be holding this opinion is crazy tbh.

That uncomfortable look when someone’s regular casual sexism gets called out by a man.

  7. Ah yes, there’s no crime in the world worse than being a slightly obnoxious woman

  8. “When you put it that way…”

That’s how THE SHOW put it, over and over for seasons on end. The fact so many people didn’t get it until Walt’s confession at the very end, and probably still didn’t even then, is sad, sad commentary.

  9. Weird… but I think Frankie was trying to appeal to the masses who are (still) very anti Skyler. I was never against her but also saw the show a lot later than most but like… he was a drug dealer and lying about his whereabouts so many times. She did some dumb things but I feel like the average person would have done the same IMO

  10. I remember having second-hand hatred for her because people who watched the show hated her but when I watched some of the show I realized how wrong we were

Ew, red flag wanting to kill a female character to make a drug makers life better? Just ew.

Yeah Breaking Bad really exposed a viewer as being one thing…… or another.

All the Skyler haters need to hear this lol. She’s such an overhated character. I get it, she has cringy moments but so does Walter. But, she’s still got more shit. When I watched Breaking Bad, I understood Skyler. I never knew she got so much hate on social media. Anna Gunn’s performance is so amazing too

Walter White having more common sense than the Breaking Bad fandom is the plot twist I didn’t see coming.

Yeah, that’s a pretty standard (typical, unoriginal) thought when you’re gagging yourself on red pills.

trump supporter has a violently misogynistic and reductive view of a complicated female character? GASP!

Glad Bryan called this out. The way Breaking Bad fans were talking about her was disgusting. Also the way Frankie says “I wanted to kill her” is soooo creepy

  18. I don’t understand how anyone watching breaking bad felt this way; to be clear, I do understand that people love to hate on women… but I watched it as a 13 year old girl and while I remember being mildly annoyed to begin with, it clicked really fast. Skylar has her husband with cancer, she’s very pregnant with hormonal swings all the time, then has a son she still needs to be a parent to.

I’d be pretty fucking pissy too if the person who had their role in my situation suddenly started acting bonkers and disappearing. Hating her is the most bizzzarrreeeee reaction.

Litmus test, yes… but also tell me you eat up unreliable narrators and don’t consider how a story changes from perspectives.

Frankie saying “oh really” like he is surprised after Bryan mentioned the blowback as if he didn’t JUST say he wanted to kill her is making me feel stabby lol

I’m starting to wonder if Bryan Cranston is the only person who has ever watched Breaking Bad.
