A bit late there pal and you didn’t care about people sending Chappell extreme hate in the moment.

And look at that. Everyone who said Chappell should’ve reached out or still should’ve reached out.. She. Did.

  2. You kicked off one of the biggest hate trains I’ve seen in years, and a decade later you want to go “oops, my bad” – without even offering a real apology? cool, bro.

  3. PeopleEatingPeople on

Can I just say how fascinating it was too see the security guard himself almost get no backlash. He literally clarified it was him, not acting on behalf on Chappel and he had not a fraction of the backlash she had. I don’t think he deserves the mob either btw, but it is just so interesting how much a woman will continued to get blame and hate for the actions of a man.

  4. [Starts an abhorrent hate train for literally zero reason]
“As far as I’m concerned, the matter is closed.”

As far as I’m concerned, Jorginho can go suck it for the rest of his bum ass career. This statement was such a nothingburger and he knew what he was doing by posting that.

good thing he nipped this in the bud before it got really out of hand. /s

a lot of people here were really loud with their hate until the security cleared Chappell. now it’s crickets for her. but i remember some of the usernames… it’s a shame because i’ve seen them in other posts defending women from very obvious hate trains but damn, they were eager to jump on this one.

  7. You guys you don’t get it, he’s a *father* **protecting his family**

    …via Instagram post.

How is his first instinct to protect his family is to go online and make everything public?
It’s clear he has the resources to contact Roans team directly and privately solve this matter. Instead he makes everything a public scandals

thank God he decided to release a statement BEFORE people had time to get their pitchforks out for Chappell! and also that he decided to settle the matter privately without involving EVERYONE!

  10. Waits *until* the woman is torn the shreds, and the story dies down, to make a statement. Should’ve did it day 1.

  11. Lavender_rain_2000 on

Well, that’s good that he clarified and Chappell did not deserve that hate train.

What I don’t understand is why this security guard is not being called out at all and what gives him the right to harass and intimidate a literal child. Who was he working for? What threat did that child was? That happened to a child of famous people which is why we heard about it, if he did that to her he probably did that to other children and its no coincidence he chose a mother and daughter (female) to attack.

Also, while Chappell doesn’t deserve insults and shaming neither is the child and sadly I’ve seen a lot of it sent her way.

it’s always a little crazy to me how many people abhor chappell and are so desperate to find anything to justify that

yeah Chappell is going to keep getting these insane hate campaigns. He couldn’t have done the normal thing and say sorry and ask others to apologize? Will the crazy mayor who banned her from playing in his city apologize? People really want to hate her and even when she did nothing wrong she will still receive hate.

3 weeks too late. People will connect this with Chappell in a negative way for a long time.

Fuck power hungry rent a cops as well. Asshole made this mess in the first place.

  15. This never would’ve made headlines if he wasn’t a celebrity too, his sense of entitlement, that he’s probably passed onto his children, was the whole problem. Then you add a security guard ego to the mess and voila, front page news apparently. It was all so. Fucking. Dumb.

  16. sprgraphicultramodrn on

i mean duh i could have told you that from moment one but also even if she did why would i GAF

Maybe alongside the respect, humility and empathy, they need to learn some restraint and patience to get all the facts before putting someone on blast. Chappell has gotten a lot of backlash over this and hate.

It’s wild that it took this long for them to release an apology and state publicly that she was not the one who had security send the child away.

Woof, the damage on this is already done. The dust has long settled and people moved on. I’d wager less than half the people who heard of the first incident will see this retraction.

  19. No-Atmosphere-2528 on

Only took him over a month to make that non-apology after putting her life in danger in foreign country.

  20. The entireeee statement is ‘me, me, me’ with a tiny sliver of acknowledgement for the impact this could have had on Chappell. The entire thing has such a tone of arrogance, only emphasised by the final line + heart emoji. This is very shitty of him.

  21. Visible_Writing7386 on

Not enough. He made a public post pointed at one woman and all his fans and go to hangars on instantly attacked her.

    He didn’t even apologise here.

Anyway, let this be a lesson to all the reactionary people to take a second and think before they spew hate on others “on behalf” of another famous person, based on a one sided statement.

  22. Suspicious_Name_656 on

Any father would run to social media to slam someone? I mean, maybe, given the world we live in today and the fact that that’s exactly what a lot of people do. But still.

  23. Vegetable_Cry3683 on

No shade, but he has way too much power and reach to be attacking first and apologizing second. This could’ve been cleared up through a DM, an email and/or trying to meet Chappell directly. It’s cool that’s it settled or whatever, but no one actually cares anymore and people are just gonna view her as the entitled girl that was mean to a kid unprovoked. Come on man lmao

  24. Entharo_entho on

    I don’t see any apology.

Anyway, since he is so concerned about his family, why isn’t he slamming the actual employer of the bodyguard?

  25. Fleetwood_Spac on

He got the mayor of São Paulo to declare Chappell not welcome to perform in their city and he’s not even going to apologise properly? What a little prick.

  26. Frost_Blue_182 on

All this situation has done is drive up my Chappell Roan streaming numbers, reaffirm my poor opinions of soccer (or football here), and convince me more that social media is a curse because this would have been avoided if stupid people like this footballer didn’t have an immediate platform to vent.

  27. how big of him to put out this statement after all the abuse chappell face when no one cares anymore
