      I get the math here but there is 0 chance this is only 20 billion. The US can’t build an IT system on budget, or a plane, or a ship anything. This will be 75 billion minimum

      So when I was just a small child in the 1990s, I remember reading a Magic Treehouse book that was set on the Lunar Base… in 2010.

      Imagine my disappointment when we didn’t have a lunar base in 2010.

      NASA yearly budget is $25 Billion.

      NASA went to the moon, MetaVerse is/will be shutdown.

      Every single time I try to press pause and have people think about our priorities in this country and what we spend on to improve our lives, outcomes, and equality, people get real upset when I say we shouldn’t be spending this much on a moon base. ESPECIALLY with our country in shambles right now. People can’t afford anything.

      Even though I wouldn’t be 100% on board with building a $20 billion moon base with the current state of the nation, this really puts into perspective the dumbfounding and awe-inspiring stupidity of war. Just literally blowing up several times more tax dollars than would be needed to build structures on the moon, all at the behest of one vindictive old rapist with dimentia.

      You know, if NASA brought all of the design and development in-house they might actually be able to make that 20 billion dollar goal. Right now SpaceX is setting a bad precedent as they have been able to rake in billions of dollars on this whole Spaceship plan with nothing really to show for it except for some pretty fireworks shows. A little like the issues the Army and Navy were having that prompted the creation of NASA in the first place.

      That’s … 1/30th of Elon’s net worth, fekin Jeff Bezos can build 10 and still have 20 billy plus left.
