The Verve remains one of the most celebrated rock bands of the 1990s. Their iconic track ‘Bitter Sweet Symphony’ achieved five times Platinum status, reaching #2 on the charts in 1997.
That same year, ‘The Drugs Don’t Work’ climbed to #1. Released shortly after the passing of Princess Diana, the track has been widely credited with inadvertently capturing the nation’s grief.
Further top ten hits from the band include ‘Lucky Man’ and ‘Love is Noise’. The group disbanded in 1999, before reuniting once more in 2007.
The St Kew Inn is open seven days a week, from noon to 9.30pm, Monday to Saturday, and from noon to 6pm on Sundays.
