Per a report on Citizen, a three-alarm fire has broken out on the roof of the Eugene O’Neill Theatre on Broadway, home to The Book of Mormon. According to a note posted at 10:44 AM ET, firefighters have extinguished visible flames but are requesting additional support.

It is unknown if the fire has had or will have any affect on the production or future performances. No one was inside the theatre when the fire happened, and the show is not scheduled to perform until the evening of May 5.

Reached for comment, theatre owner Ambassador Theatre Group provided the following statement: “The NYFD is at the site of the fire now and are handling matters at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre. Everyone has been safely removed from the theatre. We will keep all parties abreast of this developing situation.”
