An all timer. I just love it. The unfortunate collision of events that led to him being there, the idea of them leading him to the studio, putting make-up on him and mic-ing him up but him going along with it, the panic on his face when the penny finally drops and of course the valiant effort to style it all out. Absolute cinema.
…and he still wasn’t offered the job he was actually up for. BBC has always been trash.

Always lowkey annoys me that they didn’t hire him for the job he went there for. He could have shown them all as fools by saying on camera “I’m the wrong guy” but DIDNT–he covered for their frankly moronic blunder very well.

I love this vid and this man and his kindness. And it always makes me laugh too because this is actually what most interviews are: bullshitting answers to bland softball questions and doing your best to pretend the org you’re interviewing for isn’t run by idiots.
He should have gotten the IT job.

He handled it pretty well.

Very Alan Partridge
So this is what that IT Crowd bit was about when Moss ended up on the news. I just thought it was a quirky thing.
And he’s such a classy humble guy too. https://youtu.be/DJ35pAhbVKk?si=SWZiyzJX1OyUuxCZ
