The main event of tonight’s (May 8) episode of SmackDown featured the Gingerbread Man’s funeral, one week after his mannequin body was murdered by Sami Zayn.

Trick Williams spent a ton of money on this service for Gingy, even bringing in a choir to help him perform a song in his memory.

That was followed by a special video tribute with a bunch of AI art, highlighting Gingerbread’s greatest moments in life, such as the time he was behind the camera to take Triple H’s fingerpoint picture with Trick.

Zayn lost his mind at this point and interrupted Trick’s moment of silence for his dead friend. Sami couldn’t believe that SmackDown’s very valuable main event time was actually being wasted on this nonsense, all just to make a joke out of him. Zayn cut a promo about how he was going to return the favor 1000 times over this weekend at Backlash when he humbles Trick and takes back the United States championship.

Sami pretended like he was done there, but of course he went in for a sneak attack on Williams. Zayn unleashed a beating on Trick, only for a miracle to happen when Gingerbread Man did his best impression of the Undertaker by sitting up in the open casket.

Man took his own head off to reveal it was actually Lil Yachty in disguise. Yachty saved Williams by smashing Zayn from behind with a very large candy cane. One Trick Shot later, and Zayn was out for the count.

The Gingerbread Man is alive after all, folks, and the stage is set for Zayn vs. Williams at WWE Backlash.
