Shay Mitchell is bringing the heat to the beach.
The 38-year-old actress, who rose to fame because of her role in Pretty Little Liars, was seen filming scenes for the upcoming Baywatch reboot on Wednesday, March 18th, in Venice Beach, California.
Mitchell was seen jumping off a lifeguard tower and going into action, signaling that the new Baywatch reboot will be just as energetic and exciting as its predecessor.
According to Deadline, Mitchell is set to star in the Fox reboot as a series regular. She plays the role of Trina, who gives up her high-profile job as a lawyer to become a full-time lifeguard. Trina is said to be extremely smart and passionate, but also someone who overthinks as she acts on instinct.
The Baywatch reboot is said to pay tribute to the original series while also bringing in new faces and revisiting old story lines and characters.
According to Variety, the new series is about Hobie Buchannon, who was previously the rebellious son in the first Baywatch series, but is now a Baywatch captain and follows in his father Mitch Buchannon’s footsteps. However, his world is turned upside down by his previously unknown daughter, Charlie, who is set to carry on the family tradition of becoming a lifeguard.
The new series also brings back another fan favorite, Cody Madison, who owns The Shoreline, a beachside bar and grill where the Baywatch team also hangs out. He also joins them on their rescue missions and serves as their mentor while managing his establishment.
