The Willis girls have been *slated* in the media their whole lives. You would think this would have caused them to want to protect their children’s privacy. Obviously not.

I support breastfeeding 100000%
I don’t *understand* filming it and sharing your child doing it online when we know what we know now about online safety.

Putting the social media posting aside, why is this controversial? The WHO recommends breastfeeding “for up to two years of age or longer while introducing complementary foods.”
Willis’ baby isn’t even three, so this is medically advised if she’s eating other food too.

Can we all know less about each other? Can we all see less about each other?
I don’t really approve, but just looking at these comments I understand why she felt the need to post this video. Breastfeeding at two or three years of age is absolutely okay. It’s even recommended by the WHO. It’s not strictly necessary in areas with safe water and food but it doesn’t have disadvantages either.
I desperately want people to stop being weird about breastfeeding. I don’t think anyone should post their childrens face online, certainly not during breastfeeding. But I’m not surprised people shaming mothers, leads to the occasional knee jerk reaction that goes too far in the other direction.

The reason why people take such issue with extended breastfeeding is because they cannot see a woman’s body through a desexualized lens.

Sharing it online is a bad choice.
But for everyone being critical that she’s breastfeeding a not yet 3 year old? STFU. There is nothing sexual about breastfeeding and you’re weird for implying it. WHO acknowledges benefits of breastfeeding beyond infancy, it’s capitalism that tells you that your child should be weaned at 8 weeks so you can get back to work. Instead of making critical comments, critically examine how badly capitalism has warped our existence. ☺️

I nursed my kid until just after her 1st birthday, we had pretty much weaned when one day I whipped it out to start feeding and she said “yum!” which weirded me out so much I knew our journey had come to an end lol
Each to their own, and good on her if she had her kid are both happy and healthy but… it couldn’t be me

We don’t need to know this much about each other.

No reason for this to be online. Needing to prove a point shouldn’t come before your child’s safety.

WHO recommends breastfeeding up to two years of age or beyond. Breastfeeding an “almost three” year old is the last thing anyone should be worried about.

Nothing brings more unity than judging a woman’s parenting. truly a universal phenomenon
I don’t care if people breastfeed for 3-4 years, I have way more issue with putting that footage or photos of their children online.

She has no foresight because why would you want your child to be known for this in the future? Like a decade from now

I happily breastfed my kid til 3. I did not post videos of me doing it on social media. My now 10 year old would be mortified if she found out I did something like that.
Women should be supported to feed their babies as long as they want AND we should all know less about each other.
