I am a godless heathen and don’t like her music.

I think that woman deserves sainthood for all of her good works.

  2. Incoming angry CAPITALIZED Truth Social post from Drowsy Don:

“I’M THE MOST POPULAR PERSON IN AMERICA, NOT SOME WASHED UP WOKE LEFTIST LIBERAL WHOSE MUSIC WAS NEVER GOOD TO BEGIN WITH!”

  3. I’m gonna say an unpopular opinion. It seems like every so often American picks an old white woman and idolizes her for no reason. Off the top of my head it was Betty White and now it’s Dolly Parton. Something about it icks me out.

  4. Brit here, I like her too.

    * Donated $1m to help develop Moderna’s COVID vaccine

    * Gave $500 to every kid in her home county who finished high school (drop out rates went from 35-6%)

    * Gave one book per month to every child in her home county from birth to the first year of school (her Dad couldn’t read)

    * Five high school seniors each year from her home county can get a $15k scholarship

    * Raised $1m for the local hospital for women’s services

    * Raised $13m to help people in E Tennessee after devastating wildfires in 2016

    * Gave $1m to the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in honor of her niece, who was treated for leukemia at that hospital in 2017

    * Raised $700k in 2021 for middle Tennessee after major flooding

    * Gave the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt University Medical Center another million in 2022 for paediatric infectious diseases

    * Gave another million in 2024 to Mountain Ways Foundation after E Tennessee got trashed by Hurricane Helene

    * This year the not for profit E Tennessee hospital got renamed in her honour.

She has the Carnegie medal for philanthropy and I haven’t even gone into all the support she’s also given to black and LGBT communities.

She’s one of my tween’s idols bc of her book program. She wasn’t eligible for it bc of geography,  but my bookworm thinks it’s so cool and “would do the same if I was rich and famous.”

  6. We have her picture hanging up in the bathroom and I tell my daughter, “That’s Miss Dolly who sends you the books each month!”

I don’t know her at all but it seems like if their were more people like her the world would be a better place.

My son just got approved for her imagination library! Free book once a month until he is 6.

I pledge allegiance to the Dolly Parton of the United States of America

Dolly Parton broke the 1982 UN cultural boycott of apartheid South Africa to perform there for a ton of cash.

  11. My kids get a book from her every month, my son gets so excited that “Aunt Dolly” sent him a book. He frequently asks if old blonde women are Dolly. She’s incredible.
